State Band and Choir Results

2 Samuel 22:50 - “Therefore I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing the praises of your name.” The high school band and choir had an opportunity to praise the Lord as they traveled to Buhler High School on April 19 for the state large group music contest. The twenty-six members of the Berean Singers were the first to warm up and perform. The group sang “Adoramus Te” by Palestrina and “Praise To The Lord, The Almighty” by Hugo Distler. The choir was focused on their tone and balance, and it was reflected in their performance, which earned a “I” rating from all three judges. The Berean Concert Band was next and performed “American River Songs” by Pierre La Plante and “Appalachian Air” (My Shepherd Will Supply My Need) arranged by Michael Brown. All fifty-seven member’s eyes were focused on Mrs. Lister as she directed and guided them through their performance. One judge shared that the band had a “very musical performance, well beyond simply the right notes at the right time.” Their performance also earned a “I” rating from all three judges. Praise the Lord for the gift of music and the opportunity the directors and students have to share it with others!
