Music Department Achievements: All-State Auditions, Field Trips, and Contest Preparations"

Psalm 105:2  says, “Sing to Him, sing praise to Him; tell of all His wonderful acts.” The winter season in the Berean music department means All-State auditions, elementary field trips, and contest preparations. Congratulations to Macy Mitchell (flute) and Luke Friesen (baritone saxophone), who played in the 1234A band at the Kansas Music Educators Association All-State concert at the end of February. This was Macy’s third time in the 1234A band. Congratulations to Kate Roseberry, who sang in the All-State Mixed Choir. This was her fourth time in an All-State choir! Congratulations also to Carson Thiessen, who earned an I rating at State Piano in February. In January, the 4th graders traveled to Wichita and attended a Young People’s Concert hosted by the Wichita Symphony, where they listened to the group “Project Trio.” The highlight was listening to an updated rendition of some familiar repertoire. We are grateful to the Lord for his blessings on these students and his continued protection as we continue to be a light in this world.
