Making an Impact for the Kingdom

Twelve awesome students participated in Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy this year. In November, the students were given the opportunity to serve a meal at an alumni couple's wedding reception. The money earned was used to buy and donate 2,034 diapers and 2,304 wipes to the Heartland Pregnancy Care Center in Newton.

The Spring Impact Project was a “Candy for Keys” event on April 22. The goal was to raise money to replace the piano that 6th grader Cody Entz lost when his family’s home burned down in December. It was a beautiful morning with candy raining from the sky via airplane! The kids had so much fun racing around to fill their bags. The CFA students worked well together, planning and facilitating the event. Everyone was generous, and $1,300 was raised!

On Wednesday, April 19, the eighth graders enjoyed the day serving and encouraging citizens in the Elbing and Newton communities. In the morning, students and various adult sponsors helped local families with yard clean-up and down-sizing material items while others helped with some cleaning on and around the Berean campus. In the afternoon, the team went to Ember Hope and helped with various projects while others assisted at the homeless shelter with clean-out and reorganization. An ice cream cone from Braum's was a welcome treat and brought smiles to faces. It was a beautiful day being the hands and feet of Christ.
