We had our annual retreat with our junior high students to start our new school year. We began our day by having a delicious breakfast put on by StuCo. Following breakfast, we spent some time interacting with the high schoolers. We then loaded buses to head to East Lake Park. We began our time at the lake with Mr. Davis and some of the students leading us in worship with song. Mr. Andy Friesen led our devotional time. He challenged us in ways to walk with the Lord. He cleverly used an object lesson approach that greatly enhanced our learning. Cheri Busenitz led the rest of the day in team-building games. She has a unique way of relating well with all the students, and they all loved the games. We all enjoyed a pizza lunch in the air-conditioned Volunteer Hall. Overall, the day was a huge success. As a staff, we had many opportunities to build relationships with the students, and they all had a great time learning to know each other. Thank you to all who made this day possible and the positive experience given to our junior high students.
