I am a native Kansan, born in Wichita, KS. I graduated from Wichita State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and taught for three years in the Wichita public school system before moving to Colorado Springs, where my wife and I were married. It was there that God led me to begin teaching in a Christian school for the first time. I have been engaged in my career calling from Christ (John 21:17) in a Christian school setting for 38 years.
After six years in a Christian school teaching role in Colorado Springs, the Lord led me to pursue a master’s degree in Christian school administration from Cornerstone Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI. Upon graduating from there, the Lord opened a door for me to begin work as the Elementary Principal at Central Christian Academy (CCA) in Wichita, KS. Six years later, I was moved into the role of Headmaster of the school and remained in the role for twenty more years.
In 2015, I resigned from my position with CCA to start a business to help raise money for Christian education. While that experience taught me a lot about running a business, the Lord ultimately led me back into Christian school administration, moving us to Valparaiso, IN, where I served as Head of School at Victory Christian Academy for the past five years. But this spring, God confirmed that my work there was done, and it was time to move back to Kansas and be closer to family and lifelong friends, accepting His call to serve at Berean Academy as the Head of School. I am familiar with Berean Academy from my years at CCA and have long appreciated the reputation of the school and its long-term commitment to Christian education.
My wife and I feel honored to be part of the Berean legacy. We look forward to serving the Lord in partnership with the staff and community of the school, advancing the cause of Kingdom education here for the glory of God.
