Fall 2022 Sports Review

The HS soccer team ended their year with a 7-9-1 record. They were a competitive team, losing six games by only one goal. Even as they dealt with late-season injuries, they came from behind in one game to force a large 6A school into an exciting overtime. The HS volleyball team ended their season with a record of 30-7, a record we have not seen in years! They won the mid-season Burrton Tournament over Inman and were ranked 3rd in the HOA League, behind state-ranked teams Inman and Sedgwick. Congratulations to Leah Mullins and Alexa Timken for recognition within the league for their great seasons. The HS cross country teams continued their successful streak. The girls placed 3rd at league, and Autumn Hirsch represented Berean as an individual at the state meet in Wamego. The boys placed 1st or 2nd in every meet, placed 1st at both league and regionals, and then were the 2A State Champions! Zach Briscoe, Andrew Harder, and Trevor Nusz all medaled in the top 20. This continues the boy’s team streak of placing at the state meet every year since 2019. As always, a huge “thank you” to the Lord and our coaches, parents, custodians, and office staff, who help make these seasons successful and enjoyable!
