2023 Basketball Review

This past winter was an exciting season for Berean basketball fans! Our girls' team was anxious to return to the state tournament, and they made a statement all season long that they were determined to have a shot at that Championship game. They were ranked #1 in 2A to start the season, and for a portion of the season, they had the best-ranked defense in all classifications of Kansas girls' basketball. They finished with a record of 25-1 and now have a state banner hanging in their honor as the 2023 State Champions! In addition, Coach Kristin Wiebe was recognized as the 2023 Sports in Kansas Girls Basketball Coach of the Year, a well-deserved accolade to add to her career! For the boys, it was a tough league schedule with many state-worthy teams, including the eventual state champions. They persevered through some noteworthy games against strong competition.

Another positive note of the season is that we joined the NFHS Network for live-streaming high school games in both gyms. Once things were up and running, those who could not attend games in person could watch from afar. We are now lined up to add some game commentary for next year to increase the quality of the experience. We want to thank our staff, parents, and community for making this possible! Many hands make light work, and servant's hearts provide great experiences and accomplishments. "Thank you" to the numerous people who helped pull off another successful basketball season for our student-athletes!
