Elementary
Our Elementary program consists of grades K - 6. Students in these grades receive training from dynamic Christian teachers using a curriculum specifically designed for Christian schools. Strong reading training is provided to students through a comprehensive literacy program. The memorization of math facts is another strength of the academic program, stressing mental calculation. The subjects taught include Bible, phonics, reading, language arts, vocabulary, writing, penmanship, spelling, math, science, social studies, music, art, typing, and physical education.
The cornerstone of our program is comprehensive biblical integration into every subject. Biblical principles that address questions about five key areas of life...God, Creation, Humanity, Moral Order, and Purpose are integrated into all areas of Berean’s elementary program. The program also stresses critical thinking skills and promotes a disciplined thought and reasoning process. Comprehensive biblical integration is crucial at this age, as children enter into a developmental period where logic, reasoning, and deeper critical thinking skills emerge. With a broad-based emphasis in our lower elementary grades on the rules of learning grammar and mastery of memory work in mathematics, fifth and sixth grade students are well prepared to apply that reservoir of knowledge to deeper content.
